The concept of location is used in the management of physical assets, more specifically during their stock count.

A location represents the smallest geographic entity to which a physical asset is attached.

The location is itself linked to:

  • a building, on the geographic aspect,

  • a financial site, on the accounting management aspect.

Multiple locations attached to the same building can be linked to different financial sites.

In this screen, you can list locations by specifying their respective code, description and attached building and site.
You can also link the location to a bar code, to a picture and display its location on a map using geolocation.

In order to create a location, you must enter its code and description and then the building and financial site it is attached to.

The other information is not mandatory and can be entered later.

Field

The following fields are present in this tab:

  • Location (LCTCOD field)

Location code.
This information is compulsory.

  • Description (LCTDES field)

Location description.
This information is compulsory.

  • Building (BUICOD field)

Specify the building to which the location is attached.
This information is compulsory.

  • Floor (FLOOR field)

Floor the location is on.

  • Bar code (BAC field)

You can assign a bar code to the location. It is used during the stock count of physical assets attached to the location.
The bar code maximum length is controlled by the FMTCABFAS - Assets Bar code formatparameter (AAS chapter, PHY group).

  • Default location (DFLFLG field)

Check this box to indicate that this is the site's default location.

  • Site (FCY field)

Specify the site to which the location is attached.
This information is compulsory.

  • Geolocation (GEOLOC field)

When validating the creation, this field automatically recovers the building address. It can be modified.

  • Picture (PHOTO field)

Click to access your file explorer and pick a picture file.


Action panel

This action displays the list of physical assets attached to the location.
You can access the management function of a physical asset by clicking once on its reference.

This action displays the list of not counted physical assets attached to the location.
You can access the management function of a physical asset by clicking once on its reference.
