Screen management

Entry screen

Presentation

The screen that opens is used to enter the parameters related to the requested import. The import procedure is thus launched.

Once the export is done, a window opens and displays a log file which is a recap of the process (there is usually one file per line and a message such as NNN imported lines, and a line for the file transfer to the definitive directory when a temporary directory is used). If there is an error, an error box opens before the display of the log file.

Fields

The following fields are present on this tab :

Block number 1

  • Sequence code (field CODE)

This is the code defining both the list of templates to be used and the file path to be considered during the import/export operation. This file path cannot be modified, it is defined in each import/export template, either in the form of an absolute file path or in the form of a relative file path (in this case, it will be looked for in the directories defined in the import/export parameters).

Block number 2

  • Test mode (field TEST)

If this check box is activated, only the decoding of the files will be carried out, but not the integration of the data in the database.

The parameters entered, the import sequence is launched with two cases possible :

  • or it has only been launched in text mode. In this case, a window opens, displaying the first record (or group of records) to be read in the first file, When the key is used, the read takes place and the next group of data is read ; the use of the key is used to pass to the next file, the display stops when all the files have been viewed.
  • or it has been launched to real mode. In this case, the data is integrated in the database and when the import sequence is complete, a window opens to allow the viewing of the log file for the operation.
