Method of operation

The name of the folder is entered, then the name of the table that is to be maintained. By default, the current folder is proposed, however it is possible to give the name of another accessible folder, using the following syntax :

*FOLDER (the name of the folder directly : in this case, the folder is supposed to be directly accessible on the same server and the same service).

*server@FOLDER  (the network name for the server where the folder is located should be given : An adxd service must work on the current service number to allow the connection).

*server:service@FOLDER (same principle as above, but the service number can be different. This gives, for example, the syntax server_01:1802@DEMO).

Warning: the last two syntaxes assume that there exists on the remote server a folder having the same name as the folder from where the function is run (even if it is not in this folder that the operation will be launched). This condition is always filled when starting in the supervisor folder, because every installation is assumed to have a folder of this type (whose name, according to the software, is X3, PAYE, GX) installed as a minimum. Therefore it is advised that this syntax is used only in this case. In addition, according to the network configurations, entering an incorrect network name can trigger a long wait time after entry of the field (since the check on server existence is made on the network, a delay in the order of one minute, sometimes several minutes occurs before an error message is received).

The table fields are displayed over 15 tabs (not all are necessarily filled, because this depends on the number of fields in the table). They are presented in alphabetical order. The fields making up the principal key for the record are shown below. It is therefore possible to:

* Choose a record by entering its key, followed by TAB. Warning, if this record does not exist, the user is placed in creation mode, it is also not advisable to use the Return key after entering the key, because this will create the record if the key does not exist.

* Move through the table with the aid of the radio buttons.

*  Modify the values and validate them using the button, or by successive Tab or by Return.

*  Create a new record by entering a non-existent key and assigning all the values.

* Delete the current record using the .

* Change the current table using the following button . In this case, the initial choice window will be displayed, and a new screen screen appropriate for the table being maintained will be displayed.

* Set a filter to only select certain lines in the table, with the help of the Selection / Selection choice in the menu bar. The first record greater or equal to the current value (the first if there is only one) will be displayed. If no record greater or equal to the current value exists, the Start/End of record message is displayed and there is no current record. Warning, this does not necessarily mean that no record responds to the criteria (for assurance use the radio button that loads the first record; if the message is lost, there is no record responding to the criteria).

Notes

This maintenance function does not logically lock a record. In this way, it is possible to modify a record when a user is in the process of modifying it using the standard functions.

Fields of the Local menu type must be entered here in the form of numeric values (no control is made with respect to the maximum number of values possible in the local menu in question).

A detailed log of maintenance operations carried out in this way is generated by the system.

Error messages

Error on selection criterion

(followed by a more detailed message)
