A dimension type code is used to associated 1 to 3 analytical dimension types in order to carry out analysis on all or part of the elements of the dimension type code.
The concept of dimension type code is used in all budget and dimensional inquiries.
An analytical dimension type can itself be a dimension type code.
A same dimension type can be used in several dimension type codes.
