Use this field to provide an assessment of the impact this requirement will have on the current form, fit and function.

The following three impact assessments are associated with change requests:

Major
The requirement will impact the form, fit, function, or the technical specification. The requirement is therefore considered reportable.
For example, in a manufacturing environment a change request to increase the diameter of a bottle neck would be considered 'major'.

Minor
The requirement will not impact the form, fit, function, or the technical specification.

Unknown
The impact of the requirement on the current design is not known.

 The acceptable deviation from the original design will vary from organization to organization, product to product, and part to part, and should be considered. For example, an interchangeable part such as a different bottle lid color might require a new part number in some companies but not others.
