Field help (CCMCRSTAT)

Use this field to indicate the current stage of this requirement in the change cycle.

The following stages are associated with the processing of a change request:

New

When a new issue that will benefit the company or the customer is entered via the menu item Change request (Change control > Change request).
New is the default status for new requirements.

In review

When a change manager or an approver is assigned a change request for review.
Advancing the status of a change request from New to In review automatically generates an impact analysis. An impact analysis is a real time assessment, in summary, of the impact of this "change" on your commitments.

Rejected

When a change request is rejected and is to be closed.
You must assign a rejection reason if you select this status.
SEEWARNING You can revert the status of this change request from Rejected to In review if additional information becomes available to support the business case. If you do this the system will automatically delete all information previously added to the Rejection section.

In planning

When a change request has been reviewed and is ready for planning or is currently in planning and a project manager assigned to it.
You must assign a planner (project manager) when you select this status.
SEEWARNING You can revert the status of this change request from In planning to In review. If you do this the system will automatically delete the action plan.
In planning status and the status of the action plan are directly linked. Manually clearing all Planning complete check boxes in the action plan automatically sets the status of this change request to In planning.

Being implemented

When the scope of the requirements and key deliverables for a change request have been planned and are ready for implementing or are being implemented.
You can revert the status of this change request from Being implemented to In planning if the status of the action plan is In planning.
Reverting the status of this change request will not affect the impact analysis, however you are advised to consider generating a new one.
SEEINFO Being implemented status and the status of the action plan are directly linked:

  • Setting the status of this change request manually to Being implemented automatically selects all Planning complete check boxes in the action plan. This effectively "fixes" the action plan, that is, the high level Work Breakdown Structure and the status of each detailed implementation plan is set to Being implemented.
  • Conversely, manually selecting all Planning complete check boxes in the action plan automatically sets the status of this change request to Being implemented.
Completed

When the scope of the requirements has been delivered in full and the change request is complete.
SEEWARNING You must ensure the scope of the requirements, that is the action plan, has been delivered in full before you select the Save action. It will not be possible to reject this change request or revert it to a preceding stage in the change cycle after you select Save.

Closed

When a change request is rejected and is closed, or is implemented and complete and is closed.
You can only select this status if the status of this change request is currently Rejected or Completed.

Each change request must follow the standard processing cycle.
For a change request that will be processed through to completion the standard cycle is: New > In review > In planning > Being implemented > Completed > Closed.
For a change request that will be rejected the standard cycle is: New > In review > Rejected > ClosedorNew > Rejected > Closed.

SEEINFO

  • You must be logged in as the current change manager for this change request to change its status.
  • The status of a change request cannot be reset to New once the change cycle has started.
  • You cannot change any key elements of this change request once the change cycle has started. If the product code is incorrect, for example, reject then close this change request, then raise a new change request with the element corrected.
  • No changes are permitted at all once this change request is closed.
