A dimensional allocation structure is used to carry out a dimensional allocation at a later date.
This consists in closing totally or partly an auxiliary analytical dimension on one or several receiving dimensions named main dimensions.
This allocation is made depending on the prorata of an allocation key which can be an amount or an analytical balance quantity or a non-financial unit quantity associated with a dimension.
For instance, it is possible to close an administrative cost dimension for the rent expenses according to the prorata of square meters assigned to each dimension or to the prorata of turnover achieved by each dimension.
Each setup line associated with a structure constitutes an allocation structure as such.
