This field displays the submission environment for the VAT declaration, which is determined by the MTDENV – VAT submission environment parameter (LOC chapter, BRI group).

This parameter is set at the company level to one of three options:

Test – No information is submitted to HMRC.

Pre-production – No information is submitted to HMRC.

Production – This environment is available for digital submissions as of April 2019.

These environments are maintained by HMRC.
