This function is used to perform a mass key change.

It is possible to enter or load the grid by selecting records for a given object.

For instance:

For each line in the grid, the key change is equivalent to the manual key change carried out by the user.

The key change consists in changing the code in all the records contained in the database.

The link between the modified code and the other tables containing this code is defined in the table dictionary.

The following fields are present on this tab :

Block number 1

Define the code of the folder in which the work will be carried out (such as it is defined in the table of the folders).


  • Title (field INTIT)

It used to define a name associated with each record.

Block number 3

  • Simulation (field SIMUL)

When this box is checked, the operation is not really executed, but only simulated. The resulting detailed trace file describes what would have been performed if the operation had not been executed in this mode.

Batch task

This function can be executed in batch mode. The standard task ACHANGE can execute it.

Specific Buttons

is used to save the parameter values entered, by giving a name to the memo. Remembering that the memo STD, if it exists, is automatically recalled when a print is launched.

makes it possible to recall a memo by giving its code.

allows the deletion of an existing memo.

Used to launch the key change in deferred mode.

Error messages

The only error messages are the generic ones.

Important remark

This utility is used to process application table keys on a single folder. Thus it is advised not to use it to rename keys existing in Supervisor tables or tables of type System.
