How to install eclipse and use it to debug version 7 code

This ‘How-to’ provides information on how to install the open source software Eclipse Luna and use it to debug the Version 7 scripts.

Eclipse Luna is available from the Sage Downloads web site. The following development process demonstrates how to install Eclipse Luna and start debugging the Version 7 code.

  1. Install Oracle® Java™ SE Runtime Environment (JRE). Make sure you install the 32-bit (x86) version if you are using Eclipse 32-bit, and the 64-bit version (x64) if you are using Eclipse 64-bit.

Note: Ensure this is a 32-bit installation. It is recommended that a reboot is performed following the installation.

  2. Download Eclipse Luna, including the Sage X3 People plug-in. This is available from the Sage X3 People Studio for Eclipse Downloads web site: http://pluginx3.sage.fr/safex3/studio/downloads/downloads.html.

  3. If you have problems when launching Eclipse, please check the troubleshooting page.
