This function is used to set up for each carrier the parcel number that can be linked to a Warehousing parcel number.

Screen management

The scren has 4 dictinct parts.

Entry screen

Presentation

  • The pair (carrier, shipping method) which is the table key.
  • The informations defining the composition of the carrier parcel number.
  • The counter informations to generate a parcel number specific to the carrier.
  • The field Parcel number displays the parcel number established following the different entries carried out in the other parts of the screen.

Fields

The following fields are present on this tab :

Block number 1

Code identifying the carrier. This code must be defined in the carrier table.

Usually, the transport mode corresponds to the notions of messaging, freight, express,... The transport mode is checked against the transport modes table.

Information

  • Prefix (field PFX)

Prefix of the carrier parcel number.

  • Account number (field ACCNUM)

Carrier's account number

  • Shipping agency (field SHPAGN)

Number of the agency managing the carrier's account.

  • Product code (field PDC)

Value used to form the carrier parcel number.

  • Product description (field PDCDES)

Value used to form the carrier parcel number.

  • Carrier no (field BKR)

Value used to form the carrier parcel number.

  • Shipper no (field CGR)

Value used to form the carrier parcel number.

  • Directional code (field WAY)

Value used to form the carrier parcel number.

  • Suffix (field SFX)

Suffix of the carrier parcel number.

Sequence number

  • Start range (field CANSTR)

Start range of the carrier parcel number that will be generated.

  • Current value (field CAN)

Current value of the carrier parcel number which is generated.

  • End date (field CANEND)

End range of the carrier parcel number that will be generated.

Parcel number

  • field NUM

Error messages

In addition to the generic error messages, the following messages can appear during the entry :

Carriers, Record non-existent

An attempt has been made to enter a non-existent carrier.

Transport methods, Record non-existent

An attempt has been made to enter a non-existent transport method.

Transport method not associated with carrier XXX.

The transport method is not defined for this carrier in the carrier table.

Current value < start value

A current value lower than the start value has been entered.

End value < current value

An end value lower than the current value has been entered.
