This function is used to perform targetted mass modifications on a selection of work centers. The operation takes place in two steps:

In a first screen, the user specifies for a given site all the work centers that they wish to modify and select:

  • by work center and type (labor, machine, sub-contract)
  • by means of a calculation formula.

Fields

The following fields are present on this tab :

The production site associated with the user is proposed by default. It can be modified by another site authorized for the operator, depending on its authorizations.

Presentation

When the various modifications have been entered, activating the OK button leads to a second screen that summarizes in a grid all the work centers concerned by the modifications to be made, along with the requested modifications.

This grid can still be modified manually work center by work center.

When a modification of the efficiency has been requested, it is also possible to request the update of this parameter at the level of the standard operation library and at the level of those routing operations using the work centers from the selection.

Finally, if the weekly structures or the number of work center resources have been modified, it is possible to launch from this work center modification processing the load recalculation processing (re-scheduling of the WOs impacted by the modifications) on the work centers of the selection. Yet, the processing times during the execution of these two consecutive processings should be especially considered.

Fields

The following fields are present on this tab :

Start - end range

The work center group is a physical or fictitious entity grouping several work centers of machine, labor or sub-contracting type.

  • Work center type (field WSTTYPDEB)

This field identifies the type of operation that is performed at this work center. This might be a machine, a labor resource, or a subcontracted operation. Work centers of type Subcontracting are managed externally by subcontract suppliers.

  • field WSTTYPFIN

  • Work center (field WSTDEB)

The work center is attached to a work center group. It corresponds to a production resource on which a routing operation is carried out.

This is an entity for which it is requested to plan loads and track production times.

Each work center is associated with an attachment site.

An error message is displayed if you refer to tables which are not generally used by the configurator, or to unknown variables.

Parameters

  • Costing dimension (field FVLTCCE)

Specify either thestock location or a formula used to calculate this location for each work center.

  • field VLTCCE

Use this field to link this work center with your financial accounting. The costing dimension provides financial information on which the calculation of the provisional costs, and the production cost price are based.

  • Weekly structure (field FTWD)

Specify either the weekly structure to assign to all the work centers of the selection, or a formula used to calculate this structure for each work center.

A weekly structure is a set of 7 values, each specifying the hourly capacity of a day in the week.
The weekly structure is used in the calendar management.

The Manufacturing module must exist in the folder for this field to be available for entry.

Calendars are used for calculating the capacity of a work center.
A calendar can be common to multiple work centers or specific to an individual work centre. It is made up of a succession of periods linked to weekly schedules.

  • No. of resources (field FWSTNBR)

This field is used to enter:

  • a resource number to allocate to all the work centers of the selection by checking the corresponding box, or
  • a formula making it possible to calculate for each work centers the resource number to allocate.
  • field WSTNBRV

The number of work centers makes it possible to manage the number of resources for identical resources in order to carry out an operation.

For instance, a labor work center may comprise 3 people. This is indicated by entering 3 in the number of resources.

Enter, select or build an Enterprise Management filter calculation expression using the formula editor.

An error message is displayed if you refer to tables which are not generally used by the configurator, or to unknown variables.

  • Automatic closing % (field FPCTAUT)

Specify either a percentage to assign to all the selection work centers, or a formula to calculate this percentage for each work center.

  • field CLEPCTAUTV

This percentage defines the threshold being applied to automatically close the materials during production tracking.

For instance, if the value is 95% and the material requirement is 200 UN, the system will suggest to close the material if the consumed quantity is greater than or equal to 190 UN.

Enter, select or build an Enterprise Management filter calculation expression using the formula editor.

An error message is displayed if you refer to tables which are not generally used by the configurator, or to unknown variables.

  • Storage location (field FSTOLOC)

Specify either the workshoplocation to assign to all the work centers of the selection, or a formula used to calculate this location.

  • field STOLOC

Use this field to define the default location of this production resource at the defined manufacturing site.

This value is used by stock movement transactions such as receipts, issues, and location changes. It is also used when a component is assigned to an operation where the allocation rule filters by location.

  • Qualification level (field FQLFLEV)

Specify either the qualification level to assign to all the selected work centers, either a formula used to calculate for each work center this qualification level.

  • field QLFLEV

The qualification level is a 10-character alphanumeric reference field only.

  • Efficiency (field FEFF)

When checked, this box is used to indicate the efficiency to apply.

  • field EFFV

Efficiency is a way to measure compliance to the preset standards. It can be calculated over a given period by work center: Standard hours calculated for a given production divided by the actual hours worked.
Efficiency makes it possible to correct the standard times of the routing (multiplying factor) according to the used resource.

Two efficiency rates are managed depending on the following:

  • Work center: The rate is applied to all the routing operations that will take place at the work center.
  • Routing operation: The rate only applies to the considered operation.

If both factors are entered, they add up.
The calculated operating time is corrected in the following way: work center efficiency * operation efficiency * time.

The WSTEFFINH - Work center efficiency history parameter (GPA chapter, MIS group) is used to specify whether the efficiency defined at work center level should be used on the routing operation.

  • If WSTEFFINH is set to Yes, the efficiency entered in the work center is suggested by default when creating the routing operation with this work center. The calculated runtime = runtime entered * 1 / operation efficiency.
  • If WSTEFFINH is set to No, the efficiency entered in the work center is combined with that entered in the routing operation. The calculated runtime = runtime entered * 1 / work center efficiency * 1 / operation efficiency.

Enter, select or build an Enterprise Management filter calculation expression using the formula editor.

An error message is displayed if you refer to tables which are not generally used by the configurator, or to unknown variables.

  • Shrinkage (field FSHR)

Specify either a loss percentage to assign to all the selected work centers or a formula used to calculate this percentage for each work center.

  • field SHRV

This percentage is used to balance the quantities on the production operations based on the released quantity.

It is possible to introduce a shrinkage percentage on the work center, which is used to weight the planned runtimes for an operation using this work center by a loss or gain on the quantity produced for the work center.

Fields

The following fields are present on this tab :

Optimization

  • Constraint (field FCONSTRAIN)

Specify the new weekly structure to be assigned to the selection work centers as a whole.

  • field CONSTRAINT

A constraint work center is considered by the optimization function as a work center with finite capacity, whilst a non constraint work center has infinite capacity.

Select this check box to indicate that this work center is associated with constraints in terms of finite capacity (machine or labor).

  • RCCP (field FRCCP)

Specify the new weekly structure to be assigned to the selection work centers as a whole.

  • field RCCP

Rough Cut Capacity Planning in the translation of the French abbreviation "PGC" (for "Planification Globale des Capacités").

This check box characterizes this work center. Select this check box if an operation at this work center is identified as being critical during the manufacturing process. A critical operation is particularly significant when generating macro-routings.

Error messages

The only error messages are the generic ones.
