General parameters > Chapter Supervisor > Parameter PTLPAGE (Dashboard home page)

This parameter is used to define the home page of the portal displayed when the user logs on.

This parameter is only taken into account if the licence includes the portal option.

Whenever this is the case, it is possible to reference in this parameter a portal page code defining, by means of the views, the display on entry into the software of the data coming from the statistics, the user requests, the left lists of the objects or other sources of specific data. This data will be presented either in the form of graphs, or in the form of calendars or in a tabular form. A portal page can also present Web pages identified by an URL.

In addition to the portal, it should be noted that the client workstation (whether the Windows client or the Web browser) can also make a home page appear. This page is defined by the HOMEPAGE1 to HOMEPAGE3 parameters.

Comments

Technically, the portal operates in the following way:

  • When the page defined by the setup only contains a single frame with a view of the URL type associated with an internet address, the portal will be started with a customized page. It should be noted that this address can be absolute (if it starts with http: ) or relative (classic file path). In the case where the address is relative, it refers to a path defined on the application server, in the ADX_PORTAL sub-directory of the X3_PUB directory associated with the Adonix solution.
  • If not, the definition of the views defined in the portal setup is used. In an automatic fashion, it is a page in the X3_PUB/ADX_PORTAL directory named PortalStartCSF.htm that takes control and communicates with the server to call the server and to request the data to be loaded onto the page.

More information on the technical organization of all the Adonix solutions can be found in the dedicated technical annex.
