The CRM Actvities module requires the use of the notion of commercial groups for customers, defined at the level of the statistical groups in the customer record. These commercial groups are used in the management of the installed base. An installed base is the immediate reflection of the state of the market.
The CODECATCLI general parameter in the common Data chapter is used to specify which statistical group will define the customer category. Five customer categories exist:
Depending on the customer category, the sales transaction (normal or loan shipments , normal or loan returns, loan invoices) and product management (existence or not of the serial numbers, warranty management, token credit), the automated creation and update operations for the installed base will be noticeably different. By default, this general parameter is associated with the statistical group "Customer nature". Miscellaneous table 30 "Customer nature" supplies the category applicable to each code.
