A Menu submodule (or menu block) is an entity that lists a set of menu items. This simplifies the selection of menu items when building home pages.
A menu submodule can be added in a menu page definition by selecting it in the Edit page mode. You can add a new submodule using the + New
link, Select menu item
links, and edit the submenu characteristics.
The information to enter is the following:
Identifies the menu submodule.
Defines the title displayed on the home page. The title is translatable and the different translations can be entered with the corresponding widget.
This check box is selected if the menu submodule is delivered by Sage.
Defines the list of menu items linked to the submodule. Adding a menu item to a submodule can be done by adding an element on the list; another submodule can also be added by using the Append blocks link in edit mode.
Defines the application type associated with the menu items accessible from this submodule.
If this list is filled, it provides a complete list of the Endpoints for which the menu submodule will be used. The menu submodule is not displayed if the selected endpoint is not associated with it (except if there is no endpoint on the list: the submodule is then used with any endpoint associated with the application).
This check box defines if the record is supplied as a factory record. When this happens, a factory code is also displayed and can be entered if you are a factory provider. This features allows to prevent some modifications on records supplied by defaut by Sage or by a vertical solution provider. More information about this feature is given in the following document.
