Setup > Configurator > Response table 

This function is used to define all the possible responses to a question.

The response tables can be used in the technical sheets and the associated questions (see the Technical sheet, Question documentation), but also in the setup of the Configurator function.

    Screen management

    A response table contains a code using three characters and a description. A grid is then used to describe all the possible values in this table.

    Based on the table type, these responses can be either alphanumeric or numeric (with a maximum of 20 characters in both cases) and associated with a description code.

    During a quality control, when the user responds to a question and where the response is checked against a response table, the system verifies that the response given belongs to the list of values that are associated with the question.

    Fields

    The following fields are present on this tab :

    Block number 1

    • Response table (field TCT)

    If the control type is "List of values", a control table must be provided to specify the possible answers to the question. This associated response table must be the same type as the question (alphanumeric or numeric).
    In all other cases, this field cannot be entered.

    • field TCTDESAXX

    This long description is used as a title in screens and reports.

    By default the short title, the long title or the column header of a data are recorded (on creation/update) in the connection language of the user.
    You can add your translation in another language using the Translation function:

    • Click Translation from the Actions icon in the corresponding field.
    • In the Translation window, add a new language code with the translation in this language.

    A user who logs on with this language will view the short description, long description or column header in their connection language if a translation exists. Otherwise, these descriptions will be available in the folder language.

    SEEINFOThe connection language must be defined as a default language for thefolder.

    • Type (field TCTTYP)

    Type
    The control table can be of numerical or alphanumerical type.

    • Code (field COD)

     Table code on 20 characters, numeric or alphanumeric according to the table type. In this latter case, the format is not controlled on the entry. Also, all non numeric characters are not taken into account. In addition, only the decimal point ('.') serves as a separator : the comma is not taken into account.

    • field DESCOD

    Setup used to define, for this entry transaction, if the Comments field must be :

    hidden:

    The field does not appear on the entry screen but the default value is attributed to it.

    displayed:

    The default value is assigned to the field and displayed but the value cannot be modified.

    entered:

    The default value is assigned to the field and displayed. It can be modified.

    Reports

    By default, the following reports are associated with this function :

    This can be changed using a different setup.

    Specific Buttons

    This is used to sort the response codes entered in ascending order.

    This is used to copy a response table within a single folder or to another folder.

    Error messages

    The only error messages are the generic ones.
