Local Menus
Certain database information is displayed in the form of a list with restricted choice. For instance, the Yes / No choices, available codes, report groups... are available in the form of a table holding the limited choices of items available. This data type is called a menu, and the item table used is identified by a number.
Only a certain number of these menus can be parameterized by the users (for instance, there is not really much interest in adding a third choice to the No / Yes table, even the hypothetical choice of Maybe would not be known to the standard processes using this local menu).
Screen management
With the exception of giving direct access to the parameterization of a single local menu (this is possible when the user menus are parameterized), the entry of local menus is made firstly by choosing the functional module to which it belongs, then the menu number to be parameterized, and this is carried out in a single tab.

The list of items is then simply entered.
When the modification is complete, the user is returned to the top of the screen, in order to select, if necessary, another local menu to be modified.
On leaving the function using the End button, a message is displayed: Update of local menus, to which the response Yes or No is selected as required. If modifications have taken place, it is recommended to respond Yes. In fact, for performance reasons, they are loaded onto the client workstation or in the cache of the Web browser, and it is this operation that creates the XML files on the server, these files describing the local menus in each language that can be used in the folder, in order to allow a disk cache update of each workstation.

Fields
The following fields are present on this tab :
Block number 1
| Select a module for the setup. Use this field to specify if the screen has to be created in the folder database. This is the case when the module linked to the screen is active on the folder. |

Note
It should be noted that the modification of some local menus can necessitate the revalidation of screens and windows (in general this is not the case for local menus that can be parameterized by the user). This is the case when these menus are presented in the form of radio buttons on the screen. Dictionary validation is then used to regenerate the screens and windows concerned.
Error messages
In addition to the generic error messages, the following messages can appear during the entry :
Minimum number of items NNN
Maximum number of items NNN
These messages mean that the number of items present in the table does not conform to a minimum or to a maximum of possible choices. In some cases, there is a range for the number of choices (it can even be set using another parameter).
