Import/export template > Module Manufacturing > Import/export template MKM (Import Material Tracking)

Use this template to import material tracking data, with or without work orders, using the automatic processes developed for the production tracking plan. You can use it to import material tracking data from any third party product into Sage X3 and to export from Sage X3.

Imported data uses the global variable GIMP to provide information not carried in the material tracking (MKM) record as follows:

GIMP(1) – Tracking posting date

GIMP(2) – Production declaration Entry transaction to be used. If this field is not present or empty, the Entry transaction defined in the MKMTRSNUM - Import material tracking TRS parameter (GPA chapter, TRA group) is used.

GIMP(3) – Completion flag (1=No, 2=Yes). If not entered this will be calculated by the system.

The tracking type carried out as well as any linked processes such as material consumption will be defined by the Material tracking plan Entry transaction used.

Material tracking on serial-numbered components cannot be imported.

Prerequisites

Parameters to be entered

The following parameters must be entered

Manufacturing

MKMTRSNUM (defined at level Company) : Import material tracking TRS

Mandatory fields in the template

The mandatory fields are as follows:

  • Line number (MFGLIN)
  • BOM sequence (BOMSEQ)
  • Component (MFMITMREF)
  • Consumed quantity (USEQTY)
  • Project (PJT) (if tracking projects)

Tracking type=Product (BOM) tracking

  • Dimension type code (DIE(n))
  • Analytical dimension (CCE(n))

Error messages

In addition to the generic error messages, the following messages can appear during the entry :

The date is later than the current date

Control message for the posting date (if not imported then the current date).

Non-existing site

Production site control message.

Non-existing material for WO

Work order material record existence control message.

Messages linked to the control of work order numbers:

  • Non-existing work order
  • It is only possible to track one WO with the status FIRM
  • Allocation incomplete. Tracking not possible
  • The WO is not printed: tracking not possible

Messages linked to the control of products (BOMs) and components:

  • Non-existing product code
  • A material is in shortage and prevents tracking of this order
  • Product not managed in stock for the site
  • No stock transaction associated with the product :
A transaction of the type 'WO issue' must be associated with the product (via the Production tab in the Product-Site record or stored in the material tracking transaction used).
Tracking unexpected material on a versioned product

This warning is displayed if the import file contains an additional component for a work order that is for a product (BOM) that is version-managed.

All messages linked to the product (BOM) are written to the System log.
