Import/export template > Module Manufacturing > Import/export template MKO (Import Operation Tracking)

Use this template to import operation tracking data, with or without work orders, using the automatic processes developed for the production tracking plan. You can use it to import operation tracking data from any third party product into Sage X3 and to export from Sage X3.

Imported data uses the global variable GIMP to provide information not carried in the operation tracking (MKO) record as follows:

GIMP(1) – Tracking posting date

GIMP(2) – Operation time tracking declaration/plan Entry transaction to be used. If this field is not present or empty, the Entry transaction defined in the MKOTRSNUM - Import time tracking TRS parameter (GPA chapter, TRA group) is used.

GIMP(3) – Closed flag (1=No, 2=Yes). If not entered this will be calculated by the system.

GIMP(4) - Bill of materials

GIMP(5) - Alternative

The tracking type carried out as well as any linked processes such as material consumption will be defined by the Time tracking plan Entry transaction used.

Prerequisites

Parameters to be entered

The following parameters must be entered

Manufacturing

MKOTRSNUM (defined at level Company) : Import time tracking TRS

Mandatory fields in the template

The mandatory fields are as follows:

Table MFGOPETRK – Manufacturing tracking - operations
Tracking type=Work order tracking:

  • Order number (MFGNUM)
  • Operation (OPENUM)
  • Operation split (OPESPLNUM)
  • Total completed quantity (CPLQTY)
  • Project (PJT) (if tracking projects)

Tracking type=Routing tracking

  • Routing (ITMREF)
  • Routing code (ROUALT)
  • Production site (MFGFCY)
  • Operation number (ROUOPENUM)
  • Alternate index (RPLIND)
  • Total completed quantity (CPLQTY)

Tracking type=Miscellaneous tracking

  • Actual work center (CPLWST)
  • Actual run time (CPLOPETIM)
  • Production site (MFGFCY)

Table CPTANALIN – Analytical accounting lines (if tracking projects)

  • Dimension type code (DIE(n))
  • Analytical dimension (CCE(n))

Additional fields such as the registration number will be mandatory if required by the Time tracking plan Entry transaction used.

The import of a BOM and a BOM alternative for the first two tracking types creates the production tracking and the associated material tracking. During Work order tracking the imported BOM is linked to one of the released products; the non-imported BOM is linked to the first released product.

Error messages

In addition to the generic error messages, the following messages can appear during the entry :

The date is later than the current date

Control message for the posting date (if not imported then the current date).

Non existing registration

Registration ID control message.

Non-existing site

Production site control message.

Work center does not exist at the site

Work center control message.

Messages linked to the control of work order numbers:

  • Non-existing work order
  • It is only possible to track one WO with the status FIRM
  • Allocation incomplete. Tracking not possible
  • The WO is not printed: tracking not possible
  • A material is in shortage and prevents tracking of this order

Messages linked to the control of routing operation numbers:

  • Non existing operation
  • Previous operation not booked
According to the general setup CTLOPEPRE, this message means an attempt has been made to import the tracking for an operation when the previous operation has not been tracked, and only if the time type is WO.
  • Technical sheet not entered
According to the general setup CTLFICTEC, this message means an attempt has been made to import the booking for an operation for which a technical sheet exists.
  • Operation not tracked
This message appears if an attempt has been made to track an operation for which the tracking stage field (no, normal, range) is set to 'No'.
  • The tracking unit must be an operation unit
This message means the tracking unit must match the operation unit, according to the setup of the entry transaction used.
Tracking unexpected operation on a versioned routing

This warning is displayed if the import file contains an additional operation for a work order that uses a routing that is version-managed.

Modifying work center of a versioned routing operation

This warning is displayed if the import file changes the work center for an existing operation for a work order that uses a routing that is version-managed.

All messages linked to the product (BOM) and routing controls are written to the System log.
