This fonction is used to configurate the assignment classes linked to the containersProduct and to the locations.

An assignment class may be used to take into account storage constraints such as:
- heavy product, bulky product, dangerous product, or any other element specific to a product.

It is possible for each location to define a priority assignment class, such a concept also being linked to the product containers. Based on a process identical to the one used for ABC classes, when it comes to searching for a location, the system will try to match the class of the location and the class of the product container.

For instance: The levels '0' and '1' of a pallet rack, especially adapted for the storage of heavy products, are assigned to class H. The heavier products (in Kg per pallet, for example) will also be assigned to class H.

The assignment class represents one of the 5 common criteria to products and locations allowing optimization when putting items away in Warehousing.

The other criteria are: Store,  ABC class, Container, Depositor

Finally, the sequence of classes is used to give the order in which the classes must be investigated to the system. The use of the sequence rules is authorized by the setup of the Input mode.

Note: The sequence rule can only be defined after the corresponding classes have been created, the system will then perform an existence check on the entered values.

Screen management

The class is configurated and and the chained classes are then entered in a table.

Entry screen

Presentation

To create an assignment class, a code is assigned to it that identifies it in a unique manner with 1 character and a title. These pieces of information are located in the management screen header, then a grid is displayed with the assignment class sequence.

Error messages

In addition to the generic error messages, the following messages can appear during the entry :

Class, the master value cannot belong to the sequence.

The master class cannot be part of the sequence.

Code already exists on line N

The same assignment class has been entered twice on two different lines in the grid.
