Financial asset numbering
Use this parameter to determine how the Reference is assigned when creating a fixed asset.
Select from one of the values listed below:
None - You need enter the Reference manually when you create the asset. Automatic numbering is not active.
Mandatory - The Reference is automatically assigned on validation and cannot be modified.
Optional - By default, the Reference is automatically assigned, but you can modify it.

This parameter is defined at the level Company.It belongs to Chapter AAS (Fixed assets) and the Group FAS (Fixed assets),The following parameters are also associated with this chapter and group :

When creating an asset, this parameter value also applies to the Reference when you Capitalize an asset and if you Split an asset.
Comments
To use automatic numbering when you create an asset, you need to have set up a sequence number counter. This is done in the Structures (GESANM) and Assignments (GESTCA) functions, which are located under the Setup > General parameters > Sequence number definition menu.
