Families
This table is used to define a product classification. Specific management rules apply, relating to the calculation of shipment parcels in prepacking mode.
The list of families is defined with alphanumeric codes, which are composed of a maximum of 4 characters, with a title and a short title associated with one another.
The number of families and their codifications is totally free.

To create a family, the various fields in the grid must be entered.

Grid
| The family enables products to be classified on the basis of a criterion chosen by the user. It features the entity that defines the packing rules at product level. |

| Code of the parcel range. The range forms the main access key to the definition of the parcels themselves. It is used, for specific product groups or in the case of specific flows (export, etc.) to indicate the preferred packing type that will be selected. |
| The grouping code is used to regroup products with the same code inside a parcel during prepacking (makes it possible to manage the variety of products within a same parcel). |

Error messages
In addition to the generic error messages, the following messages can appear during the entry :
Ranges of parcels, Record does not exist.
An attempt has been made to enter a non-existent range of parcels.
Code already exists on line N
The same family has been entered twice on two different lines in the table.
