Basic parameters > Logistical units > Parcel types

This table is used to define "detail" parcel types or in other words shipping packages that may be used in load preparation operations. These types are linked to a routing.

The number of Parcel types and their codification are totally free.

Prerequisite

SEEREFERTTO Refer to documentation Implementation

Screen management

The required parcel routing must be entered in order to create a parcel type. A 2-character code must then be assigned to the parcel type and the different characteristics entered.

Entry screen

Presentation

The information to enter belongs to 3 types:

  • Size (Height H, Width W, Depth D, Volume = W x H x D, packing capacity, surface area equivalent)
  • Weight (maximum weight, tare)
  • "Large" parcel data
  • prepalletization

Fields

The following fields are present on this tab :

Block number 1

Code of the parcel range. The range forms the main access key to the definition of the parcels themselves. It is used, for specific product groups or in the case of specific flows (export, etc.) to indicate the preferred packing type that will be selected.

Code of the parcel type. The type is used to define, for a specific parcel range, 1 to n parcel dimensions.

  • Description (field PTYDESAXX)

Block number 2

  • Short description (field PTYSHOAXX)

  • Active (field FLGENA)

Select or clear this check box to respectively enable or disable the Sort code.

  • If the check box is selected: you can apply the Sort code to a wave or preparation area.
  • If the check box is cleared: you cannot use the Sort code. If you try to use it, you will receive an error message explaining that the code cannot be used.

Dimensions

  • Height (field HEI)

Vertical dimension of an entity. Mandatory. Two digits after the comma

  • field HEISYM

  • Width (field WID)

Dimension of an entity along its shortest side (perpendicular to the depth). Mandatory. Two digits after the comma

  • field WIDSYM

  • Depth (field DTH)

Dimension of an entity along its longest side (perpendicular to the width). Mandatory. Two digits after the comma

  • field DTHSYM

  • Volume (field VOL)

  • field VOLSYM

  • Useful volume (field USBVOL)

Packing capacity of a parcel type that must be calculated according to the maximal load threshold.

  • field USBVOLSYM

  • Surface equivalent (field SUREQV)

Surface equivalent of the basis of the considered parcel, enabling the number of parcels of a PO to be limited in a Preparation Area.

Weight

  • Maximum weight (field MAXWEI)

Maximum weight.

  • field MAXWEISYM

  • Parcel tare (field TAR)

Represents the mass of an empty entity.

  • field TARSYM

  • % tare tolerance (field TARTLR)

Possible variation of the parcel tare, in %.

Big parcel

  • Big parcel (field LPC)

Specifies if the parcel must be considered to be a big parcel when performing the prepacking.

  • % min. limit Bparcel (field MINLPC)

It is the minimum filling percentage authorized for the parcel to be able to use a large type parcel.

Prepalletization

  • SU group (field GRUSHP)

Used to associate the parcel type with a SU group. Thus during prepalletization, the system will prepalletize together the parcels of the same group.

Type of SU on which the parcel must be palletized.

  • Palettizable as is (field USTFLG)

Specifies if this parcel type can be palletized as is. This parameter is used during the prepalletization algorithm.

SU type used by default to palletize a parcel as is during prepalletization.

Error messages

In addition to the generic error messages, the following messages can appear during the entry :

Error Parcel Type, Parcel routing nonexistent record.

The parcel type must be created beforehand.

Error Packing capacity, Mandatory zone.

It is mandatory for the packing capacity to be entered.
